Vicki Dean Mayhew, co-owner of Albuquerque Photo-Technologies Inc. for more than 27 years, teaches a two-hour class covering the basic operations of your digital camera. She has more than 35 years of photography experience and can help you become more confident with digital technology. You'll also learn how to care for your camera and avoid unnecessary repairs.
Film to Digital
Making the jump from film to digital presents a photographer with many challenges. With all of their menu choices and buttons, digital cameras can be bewildering. Many people are intimidated by the instruction manual, which can take hours to read, never mind mastering the controls to your advantage.

Having so many choices gives you a huge amount of control over what your are seeing and how you can use your camera to interpret what you are seeing. We start at the basics, such as the relationship between shutter speed and aperture to determine the exposure, and then move on to teach you about white balance, ISO, saturation, and contrast. You will learn how to take your camera out of the automatic settings to exert greater control over your pictures. Whether you are a beginner or have been taking pictures for years, these lessons will help you become a better photographer.
Class Requirements
All you need to bring is your camera, instruction manual, memory card, and a charged battery. The cost of the class is $100. Gift Certificates are available for classes.
